about the project

What does a scientist do? is a simulation game made with Twine Harlowe about the processes a scientific researcher may go through to make the next scientific breakthrough.

The process to scientific revolution is convoluted, difficult, and cyclical. This game aims to counteract the pervasive linear model of science by allowing the player to directly interact with the model by making weighted decisions. This story would model a more realistic scientific development process, and hopefully aid as a secondary-school level educational resource for teaching about the scientific process.

This game is a draft, and it does not fully represent the scientific research process - and really...a single game shouldn't be representative of the real process!
